What is ReproActive?

Developed by Australia’s leading vets, cattle specialists and rural business experts, ReproActive is a specialised training workshop series designed to help maximise the reproductive potential of herds. Each module will provide a wealth of knowledge to producers, resellers and veterinarians.

Speakers

Dr Bruce Howlett, Veterinarian, Stabler & Howlett Veterinary Surgeons

Dr Bruce Howlett graduated with a Bachelor of Veterinary Science from Queensland University in 1992. He gained experience dairy and beef cattle practice in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland and North East Tasmania, before he and his wife, Kerri, established a Practice in Maleny in 1997. In 2004 , Bruce and his family moved home to Mackay. Dr Howlett became a partner in Stabler and Howlett in 2005, and since then has worked with Stabler and Howlett’s commercial and stud cattle clients from Marlborough in the south, north to Bowen and west to Mt Coolon. When not at work he enjoys spending time with his family, fishing, breeding and riding horses and playing hockey.

Roxanne Morgan, Beef Extension Officer, Department of Agriculture & Fisheries

Roxanne has recently joined the DAF Beef Extension Team based in Mackay. She grew up on a property near Middlemount, then moved to Brisbane to complete a Bachelor of Veterinary Science at UQ. She lives on a small grazing & hay property just south of Mackay with her husband and two school age boys.

She is passionate about producing beef in an economically and environmentally sustainable manner. Happy cows reflect a healthy environment and positively contribute to the eating quality of the meat they produce.

Dr Lee Taylor, Senior Veterinary Operations Manager – Livestock, Zoetis Australia

Lee has worked with Zoetis for 12 years, as technical support to the Zoetis livestock business in northern Australia. Lee graduated from the University of Queensland in 1988. In 1993 he completed a 2 year residency program in beef cattle herd health at the University of Saskatchewan in Canada where he conducted some of the early research on the impact of bovine pestivirus in beef herds. Lee has worked in a range of different roles including private veterinary practice, as a government veterinarian based in Biloela in central Qld & in his current role with Zoetis.
